Balcony to Grade II Listed House in Dartmouth

Although close to the river this house in Dartmouth had no outside space overlooking the estuary. Geoff worked with the homeowners, to design this elegant balcony with elegant and crafted nautically themed detailing. The balcony was cleverly set back from the building so that it was not visible from the street below and so that it had less impact on the listed house, whilst still providing good views of the river.

Keen not to loose light to the downstairs rooms, the floor of the balcony was designed using panels of structural etched glass. The central support is a reclaimed yacht mast and the handrail was designed and polished to emulate nautical woodwork.
